Mimi and I are officially WAY into this festival now. What started off as volunteering to work on the committee has now spun out of control. Whilst we’re going to be insanely busy until the end of April (at least), it should turn out to be incredibly fruitful. Our boss, the AWESOME Jeff Mellander, has offered to allow us temporary access to the currently unoccupied 17 Taylor Street (previously Verde Cafe and Gallery/ Jennifer North). We’ll be displaying a little of our own art, and we’re inviting a bunch of local “alternative” artists and musicians to join in. There will be paintings, photos, wood burning, henna, live music and DJs, and maybe even a bad ass custom motorcycle to boot!
Clear your calendars and plan on attending our opening day Thursday April 16th! Festival starts at noon, and we hope to be open until 11 or midnight. More details to come as we continue our planning.

It’s final.
We are going next year, no matter what. The deal closer will be when I buy our tickets the day they go on sale… then I’ll obviously have to buy plane tickets and what not. I honestly can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get there (here I am talking like it’s weeks away, as Burning Man 2008 is currently in effect) but I never knew anyone that really wanted to go. Now I know an entire CAMP of people.
I’ve already begun making lists in preparation.
I may be overly excited. Jus’ a lil’ bit.
I believe I may attempt to document my adventures over the next year as a virgin burner.
P.S. Current tv is broadcasting the burn this Saturday.

Mimi and I were discussing Halloween plans today and we have tentatively come up with the idea of having a shindig at my house. This is a good year for it, especially, since it happens to fall on a Friday. We even know the theme! MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH! Hurray for Edgar Allen Poe, every girl has to have her first love… sometimes they just happen to be deceased, creepy men with greatly horrifying literary works.
If I can pull this off, this might be my best party evar.
If you’re not hip to the Masque of the Red Death, I found a free version on the iTunes Store that you can listen to the short story… Who reads anymore these days… in fact, what are you doing still reading this? Who am I typing this for?!?
Mark your calendars and prepare yourself for frightening good times.

I’ve been seriously thinking about illustrating some children’s books this fall. Unfortunately, my weak point is the actual writing. Anyone interested in the job?

Last week I received my acceptance letter for the Taste of Champaign booth. The Mimi and I hope to be able to have spaces together where our individual awesomeness will collide and produce a flurry of top dollar sales for wicked local art. Please come by June 20-22 at West Side Park in downtown Champaign and support the local artists. If anyone wants to help out at the booth lemme know, hint hint. XD
If you check out her website now, you’ll find a bunch of drunk pictures from this weekend. Much fun was had, and luckily the hang over was short.

This year, Boiface and I are tentatively planning to go as Harley Quinn and The Joker (I wonder if I could get him to dye his hair green). He says I should wait to make my final decision after we see Dark Knight and Heath Ledger’s doomed role before we make up our minds.
For now I will consider fabric options… spandex is the first thing that comes to mind… but I’m not really down with that. It should definitely be shiny. Actually, I think that my outfit won’t be as difficult to make as his… he better start lookin’ at the second hand stores!
