Graffiti:Campus sighting

Spotted this awesome graffiti near 6th and Green on the U of I campus today. The best part is that someone else drew an arrow pointing to it with the words “LOVE IT!” I concur.

I have a lot of stuff I need to accomplish this weekend.
-Matte some prints
-Create mass quantities of holiday cookie goodness
-Make a few holiday presents
-Watch Charlie Brown’s Christmas, Christmas Vacation, and any other Christmas related movie I can find.
-Oh, and probably clean my house more. . . because one never knows when a random holiday party will break out. Our only hope is that there may be mulled wine
-I’ll probably have to toss some work hours in there too.
-Have I ever mentioned that I love making lists?
-Speaking of lists, I’m going to have Dos Reales for lunch today.
-Okay, those things weren’t related… I’m just putting off work because it’s tedious and mind numbing.
-Guess I should go no
-Save me
-Help!
-Bring an ax

I just bought these.

I decided to regret it later… but I don’t think I will.
I also created a wish list at Zappos.com.

What’s with this cold? Why must she mess with our emotions like this?!

I have these awesome lights that I wanted to pimp my cube with… actually I wanted to give it a pseudo Blade Runner feel. Asian style lanterns, noodle bars, neon lights, propaganda and robots. But the strand of old skool twinkle lights cease to work.
Anyone have a strand of working lights that only has 10 bulbs on it?!
Does anyone know where I can get some?
Also, I swear people didn’t know what I was talking about when I said “twinkle lights” but quickly responded when I said “christmas lights.”

It’s no surprise that my obsession, as far as collecting stuff goes, would eventually make it’s way to rockets. I love flames and skulls still. And there’s no need to express my love for robots… but Boiface and I were recently watching Good Eats and saw this teakettle that we MUST have (he says he’s not going to hold his breath). It’s Kamenstein’s Motion collection, Model: Rocket. Instead of whistling, the two rockets rotate around the tea kettle when the water is ready. Fuh-rickin AWESOME!

Also, I need a robot mug for work… to go on the awesome coasters that Bigfatdonny and Jugs got me for… Christmas? Impulse buying? They’re black and red flames with some designs and it says “cave of evil” on it. Hrm, maybe it should be an evil robot mug!
The Fantasy Shop
Lovesick Robot from Zazzle.com
Shorty Robot mug by Danmade via Etsy (this one looks more like TMNT)
Cafe Press
Ugh, that’s it. Adam and I are going to the paint your own pottery place this weekend to check things out.
And speaking of Robots… check out Softbank’s Mecha 3G phone!

This is generally a dangerous combination… Thankfully, I’m at work and NOT at home. Otherwise, I’d be raiding my fridge for tasties by now.
Instead, I’m deciding the menu for tonight’s dinner. I think it’ll be this:
Buckwheat blini’s stuffed with smoked salmon and dill
Ratatouille (with fire roasted tomatoes!)
Cheesy scalloped potatoes
God I hope that there are left overs.
I also ordered a small sashimi plate for next Wednesday. I have a whole week to research different types of sushi rolls!
Videos under the break (more…)

Due to the impact of this flu/cold that’s tearing this town a new asshole, literally everyone at work has been sick… including the receptionists. Because of this, I am stuck answering the phones… which I don’t mind. It’s not like it’s a complicated process. Answer, exchange of words, on hold, transfer, done. The only thing is, if, when I call the person requested and they aren’t at their desk, I am technically supposed to page for them. Here’s how I see that going: (The paging tone rings throughout the two story building) “Kristina please call… Oh GOD! Is that what my voice sounds like?!……..oops.”
Obviously, this is something I’ve been avoiding like the plague.
Avoid the clap!
This public service announcement has been brought to you by the letter B (Because without it the word ‘boobs’ just wouldn’t sound as great).

Today I seem to be as foggy as the weather (you can hardly see across the street and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better as they day goes on). But I feel good, despite the fact that I spent the last hour and a half of sleep dreaming about getting up and taking my time to shower and get ready to come to work… then I woke up late and had to hurry through that. I actually happen to like foggy days, I’ve always thought it was interesting to see your every day surroundings in a new way, of sorts. Or perhaps a better way to describe it is “clean slate.” Anyway, I’m reminded by this clean slate, that I should be thankful this week. It has been one year and two weeks since my Liberation Day. Although, at the time I was less than happy to be laid off… But that job was hell and I quite honestly hated every minute of it. Now I’m a renewed person with new interests and passion in life! Now I just have to work on that stuff that I 1) slacked off on 2) never even started and 3)… I love making lists, er, I got nothing. This week I need to start doing all the things that I keep saying I will start the next week because it’s too late to start this week. Which happens to be a total lie. I’m just fricken lazy, it’s never too late to start.
Because I’m so fond of making lists for the excuse of making lists, here’s one:
-Create portfolio of 3D art for advancement at work
-Go to the gym 3-4 times this week. Intense aerobic work-out, weights, the whole shebang.
-Attend Whiskey Wednesday at Seven Saints to celebrate Liberation Day.
-Spend less
-Eat better
-Find out why the color blue turns people off food (must start eating in the dinning room and adding blue food coloring to my meals (how gross would that be?!)).
-Learn more French
-Budget for remodeling the bathroom and make a separate list for things I need for the job. (because I love lists that much.)
-Need to craft more, start a new painting and finish a few more necklaces.
-Hand in my application for a booth for the Taste of Champaign this summer.
-Continue research on survival of post-apocalypse/zombie plague (a.k.a., read the book my awesome Boifeind bought me The Zombie Survival Guide)
-CUSHIONS!
At the end of this week I hope to be at least a few pound lighter in the “extra baggage” department and a few pounds heavier in the awesomeness that is me department. Whatever that means… I’ll let you decide.
